Each year our club
provides 5 or more graduating seniors from Petaluma
high schools needed scholarship monies. The
scholarships are awarded to students who show both
academic achievement and service to their community.
The Harold Alexander Scholarships also have provided
awards to students who may be looking at alternative
education in preparation for their career such as in
the vocational arts. We have also recognized each
year one student who has overcome particular
difficulties along the road to their High School
graduation.
Two of our current
Rotarians, Johnny Strong and Forrest Frey have been
honored with Scholarships awarded in their name.
John Strong, a Past President of our Club and Past
District Governor has been involved not only in our
local projects but has been instrumental in bring
about many international projects around the globe.
Forrest Frey is one of our charter members and also
one of our Past Presidents. He embodies the spirit
of Rotary in giving club service.
Our Million Dollar
Golf tournament helps to fund these scholarships.
