What is Rotary?
Adopt A Village Project - Osukuru, Uganda

How and Why to Make a Donation

Even though Rotary is funding some of the basics, more funds can readily be utilized.

Examples of Additional Projects:

Solar Ovens
• Solar ovens use the heat of the sun to cook food instead of using firewood, preventing smoke (and respiratory diseases) and allowing children to study instead of collecting wood.

Books and other school supplies, for example:
• Providing a small library of books that children could take home, read and return.
• Providing a picture dictionary for every young child.

Advantages of Working with Rotary

Rotarians work with other Rotarians on the ground;
• Petaluma Valley Rotary is working with the Rotary Club of Tororo (the nearest large town to Osukuru) in assessing needs and ensuring implementation. The money goes where it is intended to go.

• Providing Scholarships for Ugandan Students

To Make a Donation:

Your help in making Osukuru a healthy and safe place, where children can be educated and grow into a more profitable and peaceful future, will be very much appreciated.

• Please make check payable to Petaluma Valley Rotary Foundation
• Please write “African Village Project” or "Ugandan Scholarship Fund" in the memo section of the check
• Please send the check to:
