| Special Edition...Million Dollar Shot Golf Tournament |
May 24, 2007....With grateful
Thanks to all who made it possible... Our
Second Annual Golf Fund Raiser got under way on time an truly well
organised! 68 golfers beat up little white balls with iron clubs, drank
and munched on goodies and vied to be the one selected to "shoot for
One Million Dollars! It doesn't get any better than this! ![]() Perfect weather, great
turnout, and lots of PVR members helping make it a great event!Golfers of all stripes participated... even some who never played before! Each hole was sponsored by a business or individual, and each hole either had food, drink, or a chance to win a huge prize if the player got a hole in one. No one did this time

served shots of Tequila on the first tee...seemed to perkthose golfers right up...and away! Fore! On hole #9 the "Closest to the Cup" contest was how the player to shoot for the Million Dollars was selected...of course, there had to be an engineer to measure the official entries! ![]() So...measured,fed, BBQed, imbibed and stroked out...our weary players headed for the Reception at 6pm...which was in full roar will guests who did not play golf, but came for the Silent Auction, the food and wine and for the Special Presentation. Rooster Run catered...wine
and champagne flowed Freetley.Our speciall presentation was in honor of "Mr. Dictionary": Harvey Freetley, who was the motivator of the "Dictionaries to all Third Graders" project, which has grown under his inspiration to reach from Sonoma County into states across the nation. What a legacy. John Strong presented Mrs. Freetley with an engraved glass vase as a token of the esteem from the Petaluma Clubs. 32,000 dictionaries were ordered this year! Then the Golf Awards and door prizes were handed out to lots of happy golfers.... ![]() ![]() And...finally....the CASH FOR CASH Raffle Drawing......and the $5000 winner is..........
