Presentation: John Burns, as Publisher of Argus Courier, presented a check for $118 and gave his thanks to club members for supporting and advertising in this year’s tabloid. He also thanked the many volunteers who helped with this past weekend’s Jazz Festival put on by the Chamber. Craft Talk: Today, Deni Gross, one of our newest Rotarians presented her Craft Talk…here are some highlights; Deni was born in San Rafael and
eventually moved up to Petaluma where she attended high school. She is
married with 3 children and has been in the printing business pretty
much her entire life. Both her father and grandfather worked in the
business as printers and other family members continue in the business
in one capacity of another. She enjoys the business – especially
meeting those deadlines, and her best advice for clients is to start
the process earlier than later. Deni and her family enjoy camping
– almost twice monthly! They also enjoy kayaking. Welcome Deni!New member induction! We welcomed Marcia Miller to the ranks of PVR! ![]() Fine Fines: Libby had an outstanding article in the Press Democrat (Front Page!) and promptly paid the piper. Petaluma Magazine posted news of Petaluma Coffee and Tea (Sheila gave $25 to Hal Alexander), Cinnabar Theater (Elly gave up $5) and Petaluma Animal Hospital - as a map marker for those wishing to venture to Petaluma Coffee and Tea (Jennifer gave up $10) Johnny Strong was fined $5 for tardiness as was Terry Bryant (no mention of her green streak, though) The Drum Roll....the winning number is Austin! Ann presented a lively, informative, and entertaining talk about Long Term Care and LTC Insurance. Here are the 14 Myths that she spoke about: Myth One: Long Term Care is too depressing to discuss. Myth Two: Only old people need Long Term Care Myth Three: You can only get Long Term Care in a nursing home. ![]() Myth Four: Long Term Care is inexpensive Myth Five: Medicare or Medical will pay for my Long Term Care Myth Six: My odds of needing Long Term Care Are slim to none Myth Seven: Medical Insurance will pay for Long Term Care Myth Eight: I won’t need Long Term Care Myth Nine: My family will pay for my Long Term Care Myth Ten: Children or spouse will take care of me Myth Eleven: Retirement Savings will pay for Long Term Care Myth Twelve: Long Term Care Insurance is just for old people Myth Thirteen: No point in getting LTC Insurance until I need it Myth Fourteen: LTC Insurance is too complicated to understand.
