Today's Guest Speaker:

Chance Massaro, M.A., is a local educator at Santa Rosa Junior College, and author of four books. His expertise is Rapid Learning Memory Improvement.  In his presentations, Chance acquaints you with the brain power which you already possess, and demonstrates how to use it more effectively. finger

Today, Chance gave us 4 specific tools we can use in order to help our memory: Preparation, Use of the Senses, Association, and What I did then. He insists that we already have these tools, we just do not use them or recognize that we can use them. He feels with the first tool that we need to prepare to succeed, we can visualize our success in remembering names for instance. In using our senses we consciously make an effort to be in the present and see, hear, feel, and move in a way that creates a memory. The third tool is to associate - use our emotions, our own history, and creativity.

Chance summarizes his practice this way: By noticing what you remember...you will learn how you remember - now just use it consciously.  Another technique he suggests is to ask people about great memories - this will lead you to discover how memories are created.Chance

In conclusion, Chance tells us that we will, for sure loose brain cells, but, if we use our mind and think and learn, we will strengthen our memory tremendously.

Russell present Chance with a book to sign and the meeting is adjourned.
